The Art of Film Photography
Depicted in the photograph above is Arizona’s very own Sentimental Journey. A living piece of aviation history, this beautifully restored Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress pays homage to the iconic aircraft commissioned during World War II. Operated by the Commemorative Air Force, this majestic bomber is adorned with authentic nose art and markings reminiscent of its wartime counterparts.
In a recent visit to the Arizona Wing of the Commemorative Air Force, I captured this iconic piece of wartime history with my Rollieflex 2.8C on Ilford FP4, ASA 125 film. Of note is the richness of tones available with film. And with closer look, (click on the photo) the unique structure of film grain, only available with film.
